Schedule of events for 2025
Stagecoach and buckboard rides throughout the day
Re-enactor presentations at their camps throughout the day
- 7:45 am Reveille and raising of the flag 
- 8:00 am Breakfast at the chuck wagons (no charge, donation jars throughout site) 
- 8:30 am Gates open to the public, breakfast at the chuckwagons for the public FREE PARKING 
- 9:30 am to 1:00 pm School visits begin. Comanche dancers at central flagpole area. 
- 9:00 am Welcome by Kirby Warnock 
- Cannon fire and other static displays (teepees, chuckwagons, stage coach, mule teams) throughout the day 
- 12:00 noon Lunch at the chuckwagons for the public 
- 12:30 pm Gun slinger shootout followed by gathering of school kids at cannon for mass firing. 
- 1:00 pm School buses load for return 
- 1:30 pm Comanche dancers (central flagpole area) 
- 2:00 pm Lecture Pavilion: History and Archaeology of Horsehead Crossing by Tom Ashmore 
- 3:00 pm Horsehead Crossing Walking Tours with Tom Ashmore (starts at Lecture Pavilion) - Women’s Tea Time- main tent 
- 3:30 pm Gun Slinger Shootout 
- 4:25 pm Comanche dancers (central flagpole area) 
- 6:00 pm Dinner at the chuck wagons for the public 
- 7:00 pm Main campfire acoustic music - Doug Moreland (https://www.dougmoreland.com) 
Saturday, October 11th

- 9:30 am Trail ride begins for those who brought horses, sponsored by Texas Trail Riders Association 
- 10:30 am History and archeology of Horsehead Crossing by Tom Ashmore (Lecture Pavilion) 
- 11:30 am Horsehead Crossing Walking Tours with Tom Ashmore (starts at Lecture Pavilion) 
- 12:00 pm Lunch at the chuckwagons for the public 
- 12:15 pm Main tent: Two historical/archeological videos on Butterfield Stage and Comanche War Trail (West Texas Archeological Society) 
- 12:40 pm Gun slinger shootout 
- 1:00 pm Comanche Dancers (central flagpole area) 
- 2:00 pm History of Horsehead Crossing, Juan Cordona Lake and the Pecos River, a discussion with author Patrick Dearen, moderated by Kirby Warnock (main tent) 
- 3:30 pm - Gunfighter shootout 
- 3:45 pm Horsehead Crossing Walking Tours with Tom Ashmore (starts at Lecture Pavilion) 
- 5:00 pm Comanche Dancers (central flagpole area) 
- 6:00 pm Supper at the chuckwagons for the public 
- 8:30 pm Live cannon fire to end the day
